Volcano Choir - Still

So… this is my shameless attempt at raising my tumblarity (and poor writing!) for this week. The Volcano Choir album is on ‘teh internets’ (sic) and it’s kind of ‘meh’ (sic) but kind of beautiful in a less-beautiful-than-Sigur-Rós way. Still, it’s not bad.

This song, “Still,” is the penultimate (sic) track and the album’s what you may call ‘emotional center.’ It’s very digital-meets-analog, Bon Iver-harmonizing, uplifting, and so forth. It’s very pretty, at least.

In some ways, Volcano Choir is the Peggy Olson to Bon Iver’s Betty Draper (?). Whatever, I don’t have the aesthetic attunement to slowly rising melodic waves (and auto-tune!). But it’s OK. Some people will love this song.
