New Pornographers - Jackie

Thanks to the Pitchfork list, I finally got Mass Romantic. I went through a weird period in my life where I listened to Twin Cinema just like every single day and ended up seeing the New Pornographers like four times in concert—mostly by happenstance. I still think Twin Cinema is a (somewhat much) better album, but Mass Romantic has its appeals. It portends the follow-up’s hugeness and it’s stranger, more whimsical.

From what I’ve seen, Bejar is kind of a dick and doesn’t seem to get along with the rest of the Nuevo Pornographers, but his songs are always the second-best.
