Joanna Newsom: “Have One on Me.” The first disc is great. I really enjoyed “Easy” and “Good Intentions Paving Company” — so good! But there are still two discs remaining. The entire running time is over two hours. I’ve probably listened to all of it at least once, but “Have One on Me” is ornate and dense and not the kind of album you pop in to breeze through. Maybe I’ll absorb it all in 2011.

I don’t know who Jeremiah Tucker of the Joplin Globe is, but this is exactly the sort of music criticism you want to see. Granted, it’s under a “Stuff I missed” heading, but still. I’m sure you missed a bunch of stuff. By pointing out that… what? That the album is long and dense, you get to make a point that… I have no idea. I wish I could put this column in my Stuff I missed column. Am I right you guys?
