I’m sitting at my desk trying to figure out why Mogwai is (any/so) good. I’ve concluded that I’m a “Glasgow Mega Snake” type of person. If all their albums were half as long and only had the loud parts, they’d be ferocious and awesome. I don’t require tonal analogies. I’ll remember what silence sounds like once my ears stop ringing. Compare/contrast is for price shoppers. I want premium noise, no matter the cost. This song has that in spades, but surprise surprise. You have to sit through four minutes of noodling to get there. It’s probably worth it. Just put some water to boil and wash up while the beginning is going.
