I have no idea what this sentence even means. It seems uncharacteristically vague and non-descriptive in the way. It misses the mark Wallace usually nails. Eg, “August corn in Illinois is as tall as a tall man.” Anyhoo - I still wish I could conduct reportage anywhere near as well as he did.
