Is H Murakami worth reading? Is he a ‘serious’ or ‘challenging’ writer? Do his novels speak the ‘truth?’

No to the first question, a second “who gives a fuck” to the rest. Maybe it’s the translation, but the prose is stylisticallly abysmal.

1980’s John Irving style popular literary fiction but with more Slipstream. I enjoyed kafka on the shore but I cant handle the truth.
