Pulled Over By The Cops

Last night, FSD introduced Pulled Over By The Cops, a new crew comprised of The Cool Kids, Freddie Gibbs, Chip Tha Ripper, production duo the Blended Babies, and Bun B (on occasion). Apparently this collaboration has been in the works for some time now, in between respective solo efforts. Here goes their first formal release “Authority” featuring Nate Santos. These dudes might be onto something with this one.

I was just talking with my friend about how Cool Kids were like a joke/fever dream; at the time they seemed pretty ill, but in hindsight all the rapping about Sega and lightsabers didn’t build them much of a real audience. (Or did it? It doesn’t seem like it.) The one thing I love most about Cool Kids, though, is how they’re always rapping about food. That’s my favorite thing in the world maybe, and therefore obvs. my favorite topic. That’s got to explain at least 1/10th the appeal of MF Doom for me.

This song ain’t bad. It’s got to be one of Freddie Gibbs’s best verses.
