Andrew Bird - MX Missiles
I was in the other room and I heard this sound. It was a whistle. But I mean, is that a particple? I mean that like a participle. It was someone whistling. And who else could it be other than Andrew Bird?
Whistling is nice because whenever one person starts to whistle, then other people will start to whistle, too. We had a roommate in college who would always do that. It was funny—there was a demonstrable causal mechanism, you’d think. Those sorts of things are always funny.
I bet he named the song “MX Missiles” because missile rhymes with whistle. I got the mp3 from this page, which I found off the Hype Machine.
And now, as I’m typing this up, a Destroyer “cover” of a New Pornographers song comes on. Dan Bejar, bless him, doesn’t really do conventional-y songs, but he really should. I could listen to him all day if he were only sing Row Your Boat.
