This is a mix that I made for my girlfriend, Sady, who is wonderful and great, so which that this is why I made it for her. It’s about how new music sounds cool, for the most part, and not about how much love and stuff, mushy stuff, you know? But there is a lot of that, too, implicitly (explicitly here). But, so, not only is it about making a mix for my girlfriend, but it’s about making a mix for, like, everyone. Because music. Togetherness. Boyfriend jeans.

The Bon Iver, James Blake, Destroyer run show that the three are basically doing the same thing right now. Maybe they should start their own super group like New Pornographers. It could be called Yacht Step or something like that.
I love how there’s all this ‘cool,’ feral music like WU LYF and Tune-Yards and Warpaint. I kind of figured there should be a Kanye West song, and I’d originally structured a mix that was more baroque, but then I went with like new music, instead, and the Beyonce Beyonce thing stuck out to me. “Countdown” looks a lot like “Downtown.”
