Gaslight Anthem - ‘59 Sound
Hey, I’m sure you’ve heard (of) these guys. They’re kind of like Hold Steady, but more serious. Or the Replacements, but, you know, still extant. They sound like a contemporary idea of what music sounded like somewhere between ten and thirty years ago.
Kind of.
They sound like what it feels like to be driven around on a snowy Saturday night (like, really snowy and fishtailing) and you’ve been drinking. You’re nursing a beer right now. And you don’t know honestly if you’ll make it out of the city, but you know you want to turn up the volume just in case.
