Wavves’ latest album is—along Have One On Me and This Is Happening—easily one of the best albums of the year. The summer, at least? For cleaning the kitchen? Damn, bro. I can’t say anything without cutting it down with qualifications.

One thing it does really well, I’ll say, is that it further cements Animal Collective as the most influential band of the 00s. There’s no doubt about it. Animal Collective is the Radiohead of America. For 5% of the population, at least.
